With the sad demise of the Knox Street Supporters Club, a lack of bars and restaurants locally and an area undeveloped in the new stadium known as the void, the stadium was crying out for a new facility.
The test case came in December 2014 when a Fans Zone was created by The Fans Council for a home game against Motherwell where 220 Saints supporters came to the tented pop up facility created for that match. With proof of concept achieved The Fans Council worked with the board and funded the £70,000 cost of development with a combination of funds from the club, a brewery deal and the newly established members of The SMFC 1877 Club.
The club now has over 200 members and has a match day capacity of 223.
It is open on match days only with the opening and closing times dependant on the kick off time.
On a normal Saturday with a 3pm kick off the club opens at 12.00 pm and closes at kick off time.It then reopens after the match until 6.30 pm.
There is warm food available and we normally show the lunchtime Sky football matches on the big screens throughout the club.
It is a members and members guests only club prior to the match but open to all St.Mirren supporters after the game.
Pre match guests pay £3 entry and members are free due to their monthly £10 subscription.
After the match all St.Mirren supporters are welcome free of charge subject to capacity.
